Reborn in Mary’s heart

Reborn in Mary’s heart

In a time of division and confusion, the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary guides us safely toward unity and peace. And in a time of darkness and coldness, their two hearts offer us a healing light.

Through an intervention of God, he has sent his Son and his Mother over the four corners of the earth, Akita, Medjugorje, Fatima, Garabandal, Betania, etc., as witnesses, allowing heaven to descend a short while on earth, to teach us in a direct manner, that God is alive and what he asks of us.

Already through inspirations of theologians such as Fr. Jean Eudes and Pope John Paul II, and recently Pope Francis, in his encyclica Dilexit Nos, as well as earlier historical revelations—from St. Gertrude and St. Margaret Mary Alacoque to Fatima and Lucia in Pontevedra—we have been told how the two hearts, united in love and sacrifice, call us to open our own hearts to their alliance.

And also in our own time, God has continued to emphasize the significance of the two hearts. In Vassula Rydén’s writings, the unity between the two hearts is a recurring theme.

The Two Hearts especially points to the Holy Rosary, which would lead us into the mysteries where Mary’s heart shows us the way to Jesus’ heart, our home.

When we enter this ’home’, and we in our poverty allow it to slowly permeate our lives, we in a sense enter into the ark.

We start to contemplate the relationship that existed between Jesus and Mary in Nazareth.

We enter into the Home of the Two Hearts serving as a reminder that we should rediscover man’s unique calling in creation to imitate God Himself and partake in His nature.

The Shortcut Through Mary’s Heart

If we in this way enter into the ark, we take a shortcut through Mary’s heart, and our divinization start to become a reality.

In her heart, we would be transformed and shaped so that, in our innermost being, we increasingly would reflect God’s divine light.

“… grow in your Mother’s Heart, so that your whole being glitters like some precious stones with the Light I am enveloped with …” (True Life in God, April 9, 1996)

By growing in the spiritual beauty of her heart, the believer is not just a spectator or a simple believer but an active participant in the divine process for the soul, so that we are ”divinized” through a union not only with Christ but also through Mary, as Jesus was himself.

In this way, as the world was reborn through the ark, we will be reborn in Mary’s heart.

”… hordes of nations will come then to you, attracted by your beauty, and when they will ask: ’who modelled you to be glittering like a thousand gems?’ testify and say: ’I was modelled within the Purest of Hearts, taking shape in this same Heart our Redeemer blossomed and took flesh and blood, so that I become the child of the Mother of God too;” (Ibid.)

Also for us poor sinners, we can be reborn as Jesus was formed in Mary’s womb, in her home, to go out and proclaim the Father, so we too must be shaped in Mary’s heart, in the home of the two hearts, to go out and express ourselves as Jesus and Mary want us to express ourselves. We become disciples of the grace through which their two hearts wish to transform us.

”… in this way I would be able to express thoughts worthy of the Almighty’s gifts;” (Ibid.)

Whether we are Protestants, Catholics, or Orthodox, our lives will be marked by Mary’s care and pedagogy, just as Jesus’ own life was. We will begin to resemble her, just as Jesus did, and be shaped by the home of her heart.

Through the rosary, fasting, by daily small sacrifices, and observing the first Fridays and Saturdays of the month, and consecrating ourselves to the two hearts, we become part of the household of the Two Hearts. This household as shown above is a shortcut, and an ark, especially chosen for this time.
